In 2006, UIBIC Bank opened a branch in Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq, as the country began to emerge from decades of conflict and hardship. Iraq had become a focal point for many businesspeople as they took part in the rebuilding process, and it only made sense for us to follow, bringing with us the world-class products and services required to get the job done right.

Our presence in Iraq is managed as an extension of our domestic market, meaning that our branch in Erbil is an extension of UIBIC Bank S.A.L. This ensures that all UIBIC Bank operations in Iraq receive the closest possible attention from our Head Office in UAE, Dubai – and demonstrates the high priority we attach to the Iraqi market. Our History

With roots dating back to 1950, UIBIC Bank welcomed its first clients in 1963 in Jbeil. What would become the UIBIC Bank Group quickly evolved into a leading financial institution, focused on offering services and products that make a real difference in people’s lives and help them take control of their finances.

To serve our clients better, we have expanded our presence with a strong branch network. Today, we proudly operate from our Head Office in Dubai, UAE, with a branch in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

UIBIC Bank was the first bank to open a branch in Erbil on 16 May 2007, offering world-class services to both local and international clients. Since then, we have supported business and personal banking needs, including transfers and trade finance (letters of credit, letters of guarantee, and documentary collections). We also operate a referral business in collaboration with international banks.

As with all UIBIC Bank operations, our Iraq branch is fully integrated with the Group’s centralized systems at Head Office in Dubai, benefiting from the expertise, technology, and best practices that define UIBIC Bank.
